We’ve put a flavorful Indian twist on the usual veggie burgers we see at barbecues. The vegetarians also deserve to have some flavor on their burgers so we jazzed up some store bought burgers. These are so tasty, even the meat eaters will be asking for a bite!
Masala Burgers
We’ve put a flavorful Indian twist on the usual veggie burgers we see at barbecues. The vegetarians also deserve to have some flavor on their burgers so we jazzed up some store bought burgers. These are so tasty, even the meat eaters will be asking for a bite!
Ingredients
- Mixing bowl
- BBQ Grill
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon minced green chilies
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon dhana powder (coriander powder)
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon Tikka Masala Paste
- 2 tablespoons Shaan Tikka powder
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- 4-6 Veggie burger patties of your choice
- 2 teaspoons oil
- hamburger buns
- Sliced cheese
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- lettuce
- mustard
- ketchup
- relish
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add oil, yogurt, cilantro, green onions, red chili powder, cumin, coriander, ginger, garlic, chilies, tikka masala paste and tikka powder
- Mix well to incorporate all ingredients
- Remove ½ cup of marinade and set aside
- Add veggie burgers and coat with marinade
- Allow to marinade in the refrigerator for a minimum of one hour up to maximum three hours
- Heat up your BBQ grill
- If using all vegetable burgers vs soy burgers, the patties will be soft and may require reshaping
- Cook each patty for 6 minutes on each side
- Assemble the masala burgers with condiments, cheese and vegetables of your choice
- Use the leftover marinade to top off
- Serve and enjoy!
