Oatmeal has been a traditional go-to breakfast for as long as we can remember. In the past few years, people have switched over to rolled oats or steel cut oats for the health benefit. With the InstantPot, you don’t have to deal with the long wait times to get the perfect textured oatmeal. Dump the ingredients in the InstantPot, turn it on, hop in the shower or get your family ready and your breakfast is good to go! Try our variation or come up with your own!

Ingredients
- 1 cup oatmeal (your preference-we used steel cut)
- 1 cup milk (you may use soy, almond, coconut or whichever you please)
- 2 cups water (if using steel cut oats) -or- 1 ⅔ cups water (if using quick oats)
- Steel or glass bowl which will fit in the InstantPot and also not crack
Instructions
- Place the stand in the InstantPot which came with it
- Place the bowl in the InstantPot
- Add oats to the bowl
- Add water and milk
- Add cinnamon/sugar and raisins
- Stir until everything is mixed well
- Place lid on pot and lock
- Turn valve on lid to CLOSE VENT
- Set pot to MANUAL mode
- Set to HIGH PRESSURE
- Set timer to 3 minutes
- Once timer goes off, allow the steam to release naturally (NPR) until the silver prong on the lid drops
- Open the lid
- Stir well and serve!
- The oatmeal will become less runny as it sits

Vegan Variation: Use a non dairy based milk (almond, soy, coconut)
